Properties:

EDTMPA is white crystal powder at room temperature, with melting point 215-217ºC, hard to be dissolved in water, the solubility is less that 5% at room temperature, easy dissolved in ammonia. EDTMPA has strong metal ion chelating capacity, whose chelating
constant with cuprum ion is larger than that of EDTA.
EDTMPA is a high purity non-toxic reagent, with strong chelating ability for metal ions, which can be used in the electronics industry as cleaning agent for semiconductor chips of integrated circuits, and as a carrier of radioactive elements in the pharmaceutical industry for the detection and treatment of diseases.

Properties:
EDTMPS is nitrogen-containing organic polyphosphonic acid, is a cathodic corrosion inhibitor, compared with inorganic polyphosphates, the corrosion inhibition rate is 3 to 5 times higher. It is miscible with water, non-toxic and non-polluting, with good chemical stability and temperature resistance, and still has good scale inhibition effect at 200°C. EDTMPS can be dissociated into 8 positive and negative ions in aqueous solution, so it can be chelated with many metal ions to form a number of macromolecular reticulation complexes of monomer structure, which are loosely dispersed in the water, and make the normal crystallisation of calcium scale be destroyed. EDTMPS has good effect on calcium sulphate and barium sulphate scale.
EDTMPS is used as corrosion and scale inhibitor for circulating water and boiler water, complexing agent for cyanide-free electroplating, chelating agent and oxygen bleaching stabiliser in textile printing and dyeing industry.
